Thai Food at BP Anjung Indah, Balik Pulau

This is a post super overdue! We have always planned to post this up few days after our special day but we never had the chance to as this year has been the busiest year ever.

It's one of those place where we always drive past and said, "This place so nice lah. One day we come try okay?" and never actually remembered coming here to try the food.

Not until when we were scratching hard on our heads thinking of where to eat to celebrate our three years of date-ship. Then, both of us thought of this place somehow. We never knew the name of the place, not until after we dine there. You are very welcome :)

Those who drives to Balik Pulau a lot, like on a weekly basis, you would know where this place is although it's located on top of the entrance. So, you might not know that there is actually a restaurant on top, overlooking the always-forgotten-Balik Pulau.

Loving the view already yes?

Romantic okay?

Tomyam Seafood - RM28 (S)
He says: Love this one =) served hot and spicy!
She says: I loke creamy tomyam soup and this is just it. Too big for two of us though. Heh.

Green Curry Chicken - RM18 (S)
He says: The taste is really authentic! Very Thai.
She says: I love how much vegetables they put it in there. The chicken is bone-y if I may say. If they serve chicken fillet instead of those with bones, then I will love it a lot!

Sizzling Bean Curd - RM12 (S)
He says: The Japanese tauhu is as smooth as criminal! Haha! Must try!
She says: This one for kids only lah! Kidding! It was his idea to order this by the way. Very soft and very tasteful. Yummy.

Deep Fried Fish (Siakap) with Pinang Sauce -RM40 (RM5 per 100grams)
He says: The sauce is really tasty. A little bit sour, sweet and spicy!
She says: So crunchy and huge for us! The sauce surprisingly very nice! I love this one!

Mixed 4-Beans in Ka-Pi - RM18 (S)
He says: Nothing special but still not bad.
She says: Best of all worlds okay. One of my favorites. The sambal very nice, not too spicy.

It gets even more romantic at night and we didn't even have to spend few hundreds to enjoy this kind view :)

Bistro Mormor at Batu Ferringhi, Penang

"That day I had steak at this bistro in Batu Ferringhi, very nice"

"The price is reasonably cheap and it's very yummy"

We had to try it out after a friend of ours kept talking about this place. Sunday night we decided to take a break from our usual Malay food and decided to give it a try.

The bistro is not located in a proper shop built with bricks and stuff. It's on the left side as you travel up to Batu Ferringhi. It's right in front of McDonalds.

The food cooked and served are of restaurant's quality so the price isn't as cheap as we would like it to be, given the place that were set up at is by the street. Comfy but no air-con.

We also waited close to an hour for our food to come. Kinda too long, isn't it? But was it worth the wait?

That you gotta keep scrolling down to find out! :)

A humble shop called Mormor :)

Quite pretty set-up around the bistro. Quite romantic also.

They don't only serve western meals but also local delights.

Oxtail Soup & Garlic Bread - RM16
He says: Mouthwatering. Served hot and the taste of the oxtail plus pepper is just nice. Together with the garlic bread, this could be one of my favorite appetizer!
She says: The garlic bread is by far the best I've ever eaten. The smell of garlic is so strong and delicious. Okay, maybe not so strong but the taste of garlic is amazing on that bread. The soup is thumbs up. Thick and so delicious.

Sirloin Barbequed Steak with lots of roasted fresh mixed vegetables, fresh herb potatoes and onion with sauce (Medium rare) - RM28

He says: Look at that. This piece is simply juicy. Come try this one..
She says: For such a huge piece of steak, it was cheap! And super yummy. This is how I like my steak to be. SO YUMMY WEI. Or maybe cos we waited so long so we were really hungry.

Grilled Spicy marinated Chicken with lots of roasted fresh mixed vegetables, fresh herb potatoes and onion with sauce - RM15
He says: Hmmm.. Unique kind of chicken chop by the cook. Recommended!
She says: Masala flavored chicken chop. Meat is tender, masala taste is yummy. Almost taste like tandoori chicken. Quite like this one.

Char Hor Fun at Medan Selera Taman Free School, Jalan Terengganu, Penang

Anyone remembers the lor mee post that we posted a while ago?

Same place, different food.

She is not a big fan of char hor fun. She never orders char hor fun. Just not her kind of food.

For him, it's an okay-okay food. He doesn't especially love to eat char hor fun but he will order whenever he feels like it. So yeah..

That day, he wanted to have some char hor fun and he ordered char hor fun or sometimes he calls it 'tua pan'.

The budget-ly romantic place :)

Char Hor Fun with egg.
He says: Been eating this tua pan since young! Pretty good. :)
She says: There wasn't much taste in it. Quite bland.

Foo Kooi Mee at Padang Brown Hawker Centre along Johor Road, Penang

Another hawker place that we often visit when we can't settle for the same thing that we want to eat. Sometimes I wanna eat western food and he wants mamak. So, when face with this kind of situation, straight say, 'Eat at Padang lah!' sure no problem liau.

Nowadays, she loves going there for a quick inexpensive dinner because of this dish *looks below*

It's called Foo Kooi Mee but really in our local language, it's Lam Mee. The soup has to have sweet taste to it then only nice.

She orders that everytime we go there! EVERYTIME. Sure won't miss eh.

One of the humble stalls at the Padang Brown's Hawker Centre.

Foo Kooi Mee,  only RM3.50

Dinner by the garden, romantic also mah.

Foo Kooi Mee (RM3.50)
Topped with freshly chopped coriander.
He says: Lam mee? Definitely tastes like one for me. Haha. Decent!
She says: Must have when dine at Padang Brown! MUST HAVE! I especially love it because of the coriander. It gives a very nice taste to the soup and the flavour just lingers in the mouth when you're eating it. Coriander memang best. The soup isn't too sweet and the sambal compliments the dish. Yumms.
