Chocolate Bun at Fairy Pastry at Sungai Petani, Kedah

It feels like there's still so many more places that we have yet to discover in Sungai Petani. All the good food is everywhere! Any recommendations please let us know and we will try them out!

When we were at Sungai Petani earlier on the review of the famous Mee Kari, he decided to bring her to this bakery shop called Fairy. It's quite big for a bakery we would like to think. It's along the main road and for sure won't be able to miss it.

We walked in and he knew exactly where to go and what to get. She was just letting him do everything. We are not sure if this chocolate bun is famous in SP, but if its not then it should be.

There was one time when she went to SP all by herself and she brought back 5 packets of chocolate bun!

We love the variety of breads and buns they have got there. Spoilt for choices!

Chocolate Bun - RM2.20
He says: Chocolate oozes out and burned my lips the first time I take a bite. Crunchy yet soft inside. 2 thumbs up!
She says: I've got to say that I underestimated the taste when he recommended it to me. My first bite was just amazing. The bun is crunchy outside and so soft on the inside. The chocolate paste inside is not like the usual creamy and diluted. It's thick and the chocolate taste is beyond words. Not too sweet and they not kiamsiap with the filling! Perfectt.

Auntie Anne's at Lower Ground Floor at Gurney Plaza, Penang

Jalan-jalan cari makan... We are always walking and always eating.. :S

Hanging out/berdating/wasting time at the mall so we were walking around and our mouth got itchy.. Actually more like his mouth got itchy so we went all the way to lower ground floor since that level is like food's corner or something..

We walked from one end to the other, cannot decide what to have for snack. He loveeeeeeee the Passion Fruit drink at Auntie Anne's so we walked towards that area and the next thing we know, he also got their newest product in his hands.

That time, his face was lighted up for some kind of weird reason. It's as if he was holding a pot of gold or something. Hahaha.

Anyways, it has to be good because it looked so good in the photo.

Hmm.. you've gotta read on to find out whether we hate it or we love it!

First bite: nothing yet.

After third bite then can taste the goodness :)
He says: Its a must must try for me. Wait till the 3rd bite when the chocolate and caramel ooze into your mouth. Somemore got passion fruit drink to complement it! Best.
She says: The outside bun is soft and hot, yums. The inside filling straight melted me away. IT'S SO GOOD! If you like to have sweet things once in a while, YOU HAVE TO TRY THIS. It's only RM7.60 with a drink. We took Passion Fruit as usual and their passion fruit juice is super nice. Love this snack!

Andy Warlord Burger at Burma Road, Penang

If you haven't noticed, all of a sudden there's burger stalls everywhere in Penang. Speaking of new trends happening in this lil island. So, there's this one burger place that he has been talking about since forever and told her that she has got to try it out!

And we did! You may like them here to see more yummy photos!

Let's see how the hand-made burgers' tasting went! :)

Chef at work :)

They have 3 choices of meat that you get to choose and we tried all three of them! Their burgers are served with fresh slices of juicy tomatoes, lettuce, sliced onions, and their SIGNATURE tartar sauce with WARLORD barbeque sauce.

First: Grilled Beef with the normal English Muffin.
He says: The beef here is just okay okay.. but I like the English Muffin though (like McD's) ;p The sauce is good..
She says: Beef! One of the must try meat every time we eat burger! For me, it's not as juicy and soft as the pork one. Quite hard for me to chew. Especially because I'm wearing braces some more. Hehe.

Second: Grilled Pork Patty with Poppyseed Bagel.
He says: Hahaha. Burger as in bagels with patty kind of burger is something I had always imagine and wanted to try. The bagel is a bit too soft and cold instead of the usual crunchy ouside and hard inside. The patty... was yummy although it does not really stick together. And bacon.. who doesn't like bacon?
She says: Bagels with poppyseed. I was for sure excited for this one. For me, the bagel is just alright. Nothing to shout about! But the pork patty is finger licking good! Not only it's thick, it's also pretty juicy and soft. LOVE THIS ONE. Oh and the bacon inside, double thumbs up! :) This is my favorite burger among the other two! :)

Third: Deep Fried Crispy Chicken with Sesame Seed Bagel.
He says: I would say this one is my favourite. The crispy-ness of the burger is just chun chun. Plus, together with the tartar sauce, cheese and eggs make it simply 'ahhhsomeee'!
She says: At first I thought it would be like McD's Chicken McDeluxe but no. It's not a bad thing that it's not. It's unique I can say. I love how crispy the chicken is and love the combi sauce of their signature tartar and bbq sauce.

Old Trafford Burger at Chulia Street, Penang

That particular moment right after dinner when she craves for burger. And it's not McD's burger. Life is a lot nicer if it's McD since McD is like everywhere and you can order delivery.

When craving comes, you gotta satisfy it, you know. Life's too short not to do that. Heh.

So, he thought of a place after picking her up from the house. Old Trafford's Burger he said. Famous he said. Such crazy MU fan she said.

So here it goes. The burger stalls that all Manchester United fans should at least give it a try. They are opened until 4 o'clock in the morning, so you can go makan after football matches! See whether you all really true fans or not. Haha. Of course it's not like people are gonna judge you if you said you haven't give it a try! *eyes wide open* If like that, all the MU-inspired-shops sure will do well, considering the MANY fans they have out there! :) oh btw, in case you do not know already that he is one HUGE fan of the red devils. HUGE I tell you. We can have endless hours of conversations on this club, right from how and when the club started (sometimes, i really listen to entertain him and give him a bit face la since he's so into it! Haha)

Okay okay. Speak no more. time to find out who loves it and who doesn't!

Menu. Burger ada, hot dogs pun ada. Oblong also they have. Just name it what you want and it shall be given, with a price tag. Also, they serve french fires at your request. RM1.00 to add.

Must be one really hugeee fan of the red devils.

Burger Special Chicken - RM4.50
He says: Old Trafford burger? mestilah try! This one is good! but not that great though.. The mixture of the sauces tastes a bit weird =S Like how the tomatoes are cut into small pieces though =)
She says: That's his bite! So big heh his mouth! Kidding!! Okay, the burger bun is soft and huge. And can actually taste the butter on it, which makes the bun really yummy. The patti is surprisingly soft I like how he slices the meat patti into half and then lay the cheese in the middle of the meat. That way, it really melts. The sauce is not overwhelming. It's just right. I like this one! :)

Japanese Melonpan at Queens Food Market, Queenbay Mall, Penang

SNACKS SNACKS SNACKS AND MORE SNACKS!

After reading all our posts in this blog, you will realize what kind of food we like to eat and our eating styles. It's pretty obvious, really. Haha.

So, anyways, the boy always looks for snacks to eat. I guess it's like his way of telling himself that he won't get fat as long as the portion he eats are small. But then again, I think he can never not eat when his eyes lay on any food stalls. He just eats and eats and eats.

I was getting my 'lunch' when he walked to the other side to decide what he was gonna have. And then he walked towards the table with a small brown paper bag. He then revealed mysteriously the inside of it *drama*

The moment I looked at it, I'm like "Polo pau?" (some kind of Asian sweet bun with crisp sweet top). And he's like "Noo.. it's Japanese something something.."

As I was taking my bite, I can hear him mumbling about being sweet and soft. I felt so disturbed la cos it's like I haven't even put it in my mouth yet! Anyways, shall show you the photos of which the boy took.

Japanese Melonpan (Original) - RM2.80

Melonpan originated from Japan (duh!) and can be eaten with many different types of fillings.
He says: Hahaha.. Quite good. Its crispy outside and soft inside. Smells really good! The custard tastes just right as well! Give it a go peeps if you don't mind paying for it! =)
She says: I expected it to be like any ordinary bun. But the moment I bite into it, it wow-ed me. So soft and cookie-ish like. The filling is custard-ish and sweet. The whole bun is sweet. For sweet tooth, you'll most likely love it. GO TRY IT! :)

The whole stall only sells melonpan.

Add RM1.00 for other flavours.
Try it and then tell us how is it! :)
