E.T. Steamboat Restaurant at Rangoon Road, Penang

Sunday nights like this, we just don't know what to eat. Seriously.

So, we were resting from our usual Captain Ball games on some Sundays, and she felt like having steamboat for dinner. Just soupy steamboat that is cheap and nice, and not of those with bbq grills. Just soup steamboat. A friend of ours then suggested this restaurant, ET Steamboat.

You see, when our friend mentioned it, it kinda immediately triggers a part of our memory in the brain because we both have been there when we were young with our family. Separately of course. We didn't know each other that time yet.

So yeah, there were like 12 of us and we took 2 tables. One with clear chicken soup, another with tomyam soup. It's NOT a eat-all-you-can steamboat. You gotta order from a list of items, whether small or big portion.

Signature sambal.
He says: Very nice sambal! =D
She says: I love sambals, especially those that are made with belachan. This one no belachan taste but super yummy and spicy. LOVE IT!

Clear Soup Steamboat.
He says: Pretty good for a clear soup! You can feel the ohhhhm!
She says: Soup itself already has a bit of mild taste. So when we add all the ingredients, lagi powerrr!

Tomyam Soup Steamboat.
He says: Been eating this for lunch quite often! Could say that this is one of the spiciest tomyam in town! Try it!
She says: The soup is alright. It felt almost quite powdery at the end of it. It's spicy for sure. I don't love this, but I also don't hate it. Neutral to this one.

Stickhouse Italian Handicrafted Gelato at Gurney Paragon Mall, Penang

Everybody loves ice cream yes?

Okay, maybe not all. MOST I GUESS!

We are both NOT dessert lovers. We do NOT crave for sweet things. She does crave for sweet things every once in a while but that's quite rare lah.

So, we were paktor-ing at Gurney Paragon when we walked past this shop. STICKHOUSE Italian Handocrafted Gelato.

We walked past this shop so many times and didn't even bother about it until he stopped suddenly this time after like 10 steps past the shop. Then, he kinda reversed and said, "Let's try this!"

She whispered to him, "It's very expensive punya ice cream okay.." to which he replid, "Nvmlah, we food-bloggers, must invest and try.."

LOVE THAT SENTENCE! :)

So, we were kinda lost because there were SO MANY DIFFERENT FLAVORS and we have no idea which one to choose. We asked for the best selling one and the winner is PISTACHIO GELATO.

Pick your favorite.
`

There's 2 different size that you can have your gelato in. The mini or regular. RM5.80 and RM9.80. Got limited edition sumore if you are feeling exclusive and you just don't know where to spend your money on :)
Then, you also can add dippings and toppings.

When we were discussing which one to get, we said that we wanted the mini one, so when he passed to us and we each took a bite already, he said, "Total is RM9.80. We were like, "Huh? Thought mini one is RM5.80 only?" He of course replied, "Oh! That's the regular one you're having." -.-

Tadaaa! Our PISTACHIO GELATO - RM9.80
He says: Unique I would say. Like the taste of pistachio! Try it if you have an extra kachings to splash.
She says: Never a fan of pistachio taste, but this one not bad. For someone who loves this nut taste, you will like this gelato. It's rich with the flavor and not too sweet. Though it looked like ice-y type, it's actually not. It tastes better than it looks, for sure. Still, I think it's too pricey for an ice cream like that.

Tsunami Village Seafood Restaurant at Tanjung Bungah, Penang

Hello everyone! This week feels like a SEAFOOD week, don't you think?

You all should have at least a SEAFOOD dinner this week! As you all may know, thi is not our first post on seafood. You can read more on where we went and what we tried HERE and HERE.

FEASTING TIME by the seaside at this restaurant. The place is quite huge and when it's towards 730pm-800pm, the place could be very packed. So, it's best to make reservations before heading up north!

Portions are based on 8 adults and we struggled quite a bit to finish them all :)

You can choose to be seated outside facing the seaside or inside.

Helicopter dish
This is like a must-have everytime you go for seafood dinner.
He says: Enjoy the whole process of eating it every time! Tastes normal but I think the sauce made the difference :)
She says: Fresh and clean.

Fried Bee Hoon
He says: Just okay okay..
She says: It's above average for me. Mayeb because it's not too dry and there's a lot of ingredients inside. Yums.

Assam Prawns
He says: Pretty good. Combination of sweetness, sourness and saltiness!
She says: Everyone loves asam prawns right? Even for those who doesn't eat prawns, this is a must-try dish. The asam sauce is superb. Not too much of saltiness, sweetness and the sourness.

Deep Fried Brinjal in strips.
He says: Nice! But could be better if it is more crunchy!
She says: Goodness. THIS IS THE BOMB. Very smart of them to cook it like that. It's actually really yummy. I love it that it's a bit crunchy outside but soft inside. Love this one :)

Deep Fried Nestum Prawn
He says: My favourite dish of the night! Nestum nestum nestum!
She says: Okaylah for me. Nothing special. Just like those kind where you'll have them as the fourth dish in any wedding dinner.

Steamed Fish (Red Snapper) Thai Style
He says: Quite disappointed. I thought that this is the main dish but it was served cold and the OOOOMM wasn't there.
She says: Not as nice as I thought it would be. The fish meat also got some funny smell.

Deep Fried Soft Shell Crab
He says: Thumps up! crunchy and good!
She says: ANOTHER BOMB. Chiak crab but no need use hand. Syiok to the max. This one is very good. Very crunchy and then the flour that coats the soft shell crab is quite thin so can actually taste the soft shell crab. This one really yummy. Another must-try here!

Famous Tomyam at Jalan Raja Uda (right after Kwang Hwa School)

SORRY FOR SUCH A LONG PAUSE SINCE WE LAST UPDATED ANYTHING! SO YEAHH!

This is not the first time we blogged about tomyam.

Being Thai food lovers (yes, the both of us!), we of course will tend to lean more on trying out tomyams and thai-related-foods.

You want to see other tomyam posts that we reviewed? Click here and here.

He brought her here once or maybe a few times but it was always closed.

You see, it's quite funny in a way when we talk about Raja Uda Tomyam. Everytime we suggest to have tomyam at Raja Uda, for sure people will ask, "WHICH ONE?"

CONFIRM people will ask this question!

For the both of us, we always tell people this is the original one. The nicer one. The one next to a school. The one that cooks really slowly and people are still willing to wait.

So, this time when we went there, we waited for like about 1 hour, which isn't too bad, but we were all super hungryyyy!

Imagine us walloping the whole bowl as soon as it reaches our table.

at 7:30pm.

Time to feast :)
You can of course choose your own ingredients and noodles or if you want porridge style also got.

He says: Sweet kind of tomyam and this one is really good! Would travel back there and wait for the bowl of tomyam. :)
She says: It tasted better than it looks! I of course would prefer this than this one, but its quite nice. If you are not those who eats really spicy stuff, this is good for you. It isn't too spicy nor bland. It's alright. Very chun-chun.
